My family calls me paparazzi-proof.
For years, I had this move. The second a camera came out, my hand went up. Perfectly timed, face blocked.
They have A LOT of photos of me doing this, too many to count. Holidays, birthdays, vacations, random Tuesday dinners. Me with my hand raised like I was dodging the press (scroll to the end to see an image of me in action).
It was a joke to them. But for me, I didn’t want to be seen. Not even in my personal life, not even by the people who loved me.
That same instinct showed up in my business.
For over 20 years, I worked behind the scenes. Building my agency and other people’s companies. Helping clients become visible while I stayed invisible. I was the strategist, the architect, the one behind the curtain making things happen.
And I am exceptional at it. $280M in client revenue proves that. Millions earned by my agency. But I was also hiding.
I told myself I was being strategic; that I didn’t need to be the face. My work could speak for itself. But the truth? I was protecting myself from the exposure that comes with being seen.
I discussed this in a recent episode of the Joyful Ambition podcast - what keeps us powerless is our reluctance to be witnessed. We hide from visibility because it feels safer. But in doing so, we hide from our own power. If this is landing for you, give it a listen.
Then something shifted.
My mission got bigger than my introversion. The frameworks I had built, the strategies I refined, the approach to Joyful Ambition that was changing women’s businesses? More people needed access to it and they couldn’t access what they couldn’t find.
I had to choose between staying comfortably hidden and becoming visible to serve at a higher level.
I chose visibility to help more women redefine ambition and even though the mission was altruistic, increased revenue followed.
The Visibility-Revenue Connection
This month, we’ve been talking about the revenue you’re leaving on the table.
This week: Visibility.
The math no one wants to do, you can have the best offer, the right pricing, and bulletproof boundaries. But if no one knows you exist, none of it converts.
Visibility is NOT vanity. It’s revenue strategy, always has been.
The clients who need you can’t hire you if they can’t find you. The opportunities that could change your business go to the woman who showed up, not the one who waited.
Hiding is expensive, and most ambitious women are paying that cost without realizing it.
Let’s talk actual cost:
Lost clients: The woman who needed exactly what you offer hired someone else because she found them first. Not better. Just visible.
Smaller deals: When you’re invisible, you take what comes to you. When you’re visible, you attract what aligns with you. The difference? Often five figures or more.
Slower growth: You’re building by referral and word of mouth alone. It works, but it’s slow. Visibility accelerates everything!
Undervalued expertise: When the market doesn’t see you, they don’t know your depth. You get compared to people who aren’t your peers because no one knows any better.
I spent 20 years behind the scenes and I built a successful agency. But I also watched opportunities go to people who were less experienced and more visible only because they were findable.
Why We Hide (And Why It’s Costing Us)
Hiding feels safe. Visibility feels, well, visible and exposed.
What’s really happening:
You delay the pitch and lose the contract.
You avoid the post and miss the client who was ready to buy.
You shrink your message and attract people who want your discounted version.
You wait for perfection and watch someone else capture the market.
Every day you stay invisible is a day you leave revenue unclaimed.
This isn’t about being everywhere, believe me, we’ve already covered that. You and your business must be findable by the people who need you and can pay you.
Strategic visibility is efficient. You show up in the right places, for the right people, with the right message. And you let that work compound.

Women earning $100K, $250K and $500K? They’re not hiding; they’ve made visibility part of their revenue strategy.
Your Visibility Equation: Intentionality + Alignment + Premium Audiences = Attraction, Impact & Revenue
You don’t have to be everywhere, but you must be intentional. Showing up on your terms, in spaces that align for audiences who pay, so your gifts have a greater impact.
The Shift
I set a stretch goal for 2026: intentional, strategic visibility. Completing at least 30 podcast interviews this year. As of writing this, I’ve already recorded five and have seven scheduled.
At my 4th Annual Level Up Summit, I’m giving a keynote + hosting + moderating. The goal is content that reaches beyond my current audience with real conversion opportunity.
As an introvert, it’s uncomfortable. My hand still wants to go up sometimes.
But my mission is bigger than my comfort zone. What I know from almost 30 years in business is that strategic visibility is a revenue lever. One of the most powerful ones.
