Hi Visionary,

Last Thursday, I was at the Arts District Mansion in Dallas, where Texas Wall Street Women presented the 14th Annual State of the Markets. I watched women walk in for the bespoke content that would tell them where capital is actually being directed right now. First was the panel on the energy markets. Second one with CIOs moving multi-billion dollar via numerous funds and plays. I saw a lot of familiar faces and many new ones. Women who came with the intention of learning and connecting, and who brought other women with them. Nearly a decade on that board, and the room told me the work was working.

And I noticed something in myself I had not felt in a long time.

While standing in that same ballroom, I didn’t feel the tension in my personal life as I had in recent years.

I can happily say that my personal life is in spring. The agency, in spring, and we’re adding new service lines that we have been quietly building toward. The Collective in spring too, shedding what no longer serves, building what does. I was standing in a room of ambitious women, listening to conversations about capital at a scale that reorganizes regions, and for the first time in three years, nothing inside me was contracting while the outside was expanding.

I almost didn't write about this because the clean move is to show you the shiny part and move on, but if you know me, I don’t do that. I let you see it all. Because I earned this season, my new spring. And because I’m never willing to ask you to believe in a framework, I am only willing to teach and not live.

What the Three Years Actually Were

2023 to 2026, three long years in winter. The eighteen months I told you about last week were the Recalibrate window, the stretch when the seasons were most in tension and the move was strategic redirect. When that window closed, the move shifted. A personal winter that had nothing to do with my business and everything to do with my life continued, and I met it with something different. I held it honestly the whole time. I did not force it to end faster. I did not perform a spring I wasn't in.

And here is the part the culture does not teach you.

Once the Recalibrate window closed, I was not surviving. I was Rooting.

I held what was working. I did not chase new service lines to feel better or reinvent the Collective to manufacture momentum. I did not pivot the newsletter to ride a trend. I kept the same three things and made them deeper while my personal life asked everything of me.

That is the R that built the spring I am standing in now.

And here is what most women get wrong about what happens next. When the seasons turn green, they assume the move immediately shifts to Rev.

It doesn't.

The Root I practiced through the winter is still the Root I am practicing right now. Shedding slowly. Adding slowly. Protecting the compounding. The seasons turned but the move is still Root until the reserves are fully restored and the next opportunity is sized to meet them with everything I have.

Rev is the next move. Not the current one.

Root earns Rev the same way it earned the spring.

The R Most Women Resist

Last week I gave you three moves. Recalibrate, Root, Rev., and I know which one most of you skipped over. You read Recalibrate and felt relief. You read Rev and felt excitement. You read Root and thought: that's not me. I'm a builder.

Root is the R ambitious women resist the hardest.

Because Root looks like nothing from the outside.

Nobody writes the case study about the entrepreneur who said: "This is enough, and I'm going to protect it for another three quarters." The culture celebrates pivots and punishes consistency.

But Root is where businesses become sustainable.

And in 17+ years of watching women build and rebuild, the ones who are still standing at year ten and year fifteen are not the ones who kept launching. They are the ones who knew when to Root and did it without apologizing for the quiet.

What Root Actually Looks Like

Root shows up in three places most ambitious women miss.

  1. When both seasons are in fall.

  2. Your business is consolidating.

  3. Your life is consolidating.

Root says: stay in the harvest. Optimize what is already working. Cut what is draining. Do not launch. This is not the season for new.

When your business is in spring and your life is in winter. This is where most women grab for Recalibrate and mean it, but some of them need Root instead. Hold the three things that are working. Do not add. Do not chase. Protect the capacity your life is asking for.

When you are exhausted and the market is noisy. Everyone is launching. Every feed is loud. Every peer is announcing. Root says: the loudest season is almost never yours. Stay with your three things. Make them deeper. Let the noise pass.

The committee in your head is going to fight you on this. If you are not growing, you are dying. Dismiss it. Root is not stagnation. Root is the R that makes growth possible on the other side.

What Root Earns You

I could not have been standing in that room in Dallas last Thursday without those three years of winter. The spring I am in is not an accident. It is not a mood or a reward for optimism.

It is the harvest.

Both-spring is what Root produces when you hold the line long enough for the season to turn. The women who compound are not the ones whose seasons magically matched. They are the ones who Rooted, honestly, for as long as it took, and did not force alignment to feel better in the meantime.

Your Question

What are you being asked to Root in right now, and who is telling you to pivot instead?

Sit with it for a moment.

Name the thing. Name the voice. Then decide which one you are going to listen to.

Hit reply and tell me what you are Rooting in. I read every one.

To your continued success,

Bianca

P.S. If you haven't taken the Ambition Axis yet (although over 100 of you have!!), that's still where I'd start. Once you know your seasons, the Elevation Assessment is the next tool. It shows you where you stand across the four domains that determine whether Root is actually your move: Identity, Revenue, Sovereignty, and Capacity. It gives you the clarity to choose your R on purpose. Free. prettydamnambitious.com/elevation

What I'm Excited About

Episode 15 of the podcast, 3 R's + Ambition. Today we went deep into Root. The episode walks you through all three R's, Recalibrate, Root, Rev, and how to know which one is actually your move right now. If Root landed, this is where it gets deeper. Pull it up on your next walk.
