Hi Visionary,
Last week, we drew a line between magnetism and chasing. That pull has a name in my work. Attraction is one of the five A's of Joyful Ambition, and I define it as the pull created by integrity and congruence, which becomes magnetic when you stop performing. This week, I want to sit with the harder part: most of us chase constantly and almost never call it that. We call it showing up, or staying consistent, or doing the work. Some of it genuinely is. The rest are chasing while wearing more respectable outfits.
I Have Chased Too
I learned this the hard way, back when almost nobody knew my name. In my early days, over a decade ago, I was sure that visibility was a numbers game, so I worked it like one. I went to every local chamber of commerce mixer I could find, name tag on, a stack of business cards in my palm. My website was sharp, my testimonials were real and glowing, and I could speak about my work with conviction. So I handed a card to anyone who would take one.
