What if the thing holding you back is loyalty?

My husband and I used to quietly dread certain family trips.

Don’t get me wrong, we love our family deeply.

But there were times we found ourselves packing bags not out of excitement, instead of what felt like obligation, going back to the same city when we’d rather be exploring a new one or enjoying quiet time together. Dutifully, we would head to the airport, smile, and say, “This is just what we do.”

At some point, I started calling them “Oblications.”

Vacations that weren’t about joy or rest. Just responsibility, tradition and obligation.

And the more I said the word, the more I started seeing oblications everywhere, even in our businesses.
